Faculty Senate Service Awards

At the end of each academic year, the Faculty Senate awards the Senate Service Award on one or more individuals for distinguished service to the Senate.  

2023

  • Miriam Toporowicz, GUMC, in recognition of insightful and thoughtful engagement with shared governance and leadership for many years.
  • George Luta, GUMC, in recognition of leadership on behalf of the GUMC Caucus and the wider Faculty Senate.

2022

  • Jan LaRocque, in recognition of outstanding, ongoing service in the transition of the SNHS to the new School of Nursing and new School of Health.
  • Ranit Mishori, Chief Public Health Officer, and the entire public health team, for their ongoing leadership and management of Georgetown’s COVID-19 response.

2021

  • Wayne A. Davis, Main Campus, in recognition of 20 years as President of the Faculty Senate.
  • Julie Goffe, Administrative Assistant for the Senate for twenty-five years, on her retirement.
