Faculty Senate Service Awards
At the end of each academic year, the Faculty Senate awards the Senate Service Award on one or more individuals for distinguished service to the Senate.
2024
- David Cole, GULC, in recognition of his sage leadership of the Senate’s Working Group on Free Speech and Campus Culture
- Lyndsay Taylor, Project Manager for Faculty Relations, for her support to the Senate Officers in providing continuity and organization over the last three years.
2023
- Miriam Toporowicz, GUMC, in recognition of insightful and thoughtful engagement with shared governance and leadership for many years.
- George Luta, GUMC, in recognition of leadership on behalf of the GUMC Caucus and the wider Faculty Senate.
2022
- Jan LaRocque, School of Health, in recognition of outstanding, ongoing service in the transition of the SNHS to the new School of Nursing and new School of Health.
- Ranit Mishori, Chief Public Health Officer, and the entire public health team, for their ongoing leadership and management of Georgetown’s COVID-19 response.
